House of The Dragon season 3 promises to be epic, as the Targaryen civil war heats up.
“Season three has stepped up a gear and we’ve all felt it,” says Emma D’Arcy, while Matt Smith, seen cheekily knighting us from the camera’s point of view, promises that “The scale is enormous this season.” It’s looking like all out war for the upcoming season of House of the Dragon, HBO‘s well-regarded (by everyone except George RR Martin) Game of Thrones spin off.

What’s the plot?
Set about a couple hundred years or so before Game Of Thrones, House Of The Dragon follows… these people in white wigs who hate each other. Except they’re all related, which complicates things.

Following King Aegon II’s coronation and the death of Queen Rhaenyra’s son, House Targaryen is divided in two. In King’s Landing, Aegon II rules from the Iron Throne, supported by Alicent and the Green Council, under the protection of the largest dragon in Westeros. From exile on Dragonstone, Queen Rhaenyra and her Black Council consider their next move. Civil war looms as both sides seek support from the great houses of Westeros, ultimately amassing armies — and dragons.
