The Spill Canvas Australian tour 2025 is almost here! After nearly two decades of heartbreak anthems, The Spill Canvas are finally coming to Australia, and frontman Nick Thomas is just as stoked as the fans who’ve been clinging to ‘One Fell Swoop’ since 2005.
In a new chat, Thomas opened up about what it means to finally tour Down Under with emo contemporaries The Juliana Theory, and how surreal it is to see Australian fans still deeply connected to the band’s early material.
“I don’t know what I expected back then,” Thomas reflects, speaking on ‘One Fell Swoop’, the band’s breakout album. “We were up against Mariah Carey’s ‘We Belong Together’ on the charts. The Dukes of Hazzard was killing it at the box office. It was a weird time to be writing songs about emotional devastation.”
Now, nearly 20 years on, the band will perform ‘One Fell Swoop’ in full across three Australian cities, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane later this month. The shows mark a long overdue love letter to Aussie fans who never let go.
Thomas also teased new material is in the works and talked candidly about the balance between honouring long time fans and exploring new creative ground.
Whether you’re reliving old wounds or hearing them live for the first time, The Spill Canvas in 2025 is more than just nostalgia.
