Disturbed has shared a statement after their scheduled show in Brussels was cancelled, citing safety concerns.
Metal group Disturbed has issued a statement on social media following the sudden cancellation of their upcoming show in Brussels on October 15. Local officials would announce that the concert was cancelled due to safety concerns.
The band would share their statement on Instagram and other social media accounts, writing “Music is where all our differences face into the background,” and that they were “saddened that our fans in Belgium are not going to be able to share in this celebration of music”.
Their full statement follows:
“Music is where all our differences fade into the background. Music has the power to heal, to inspire and to bring people together, it’s not about what divides us. We have always made it a point that at our shows ALL are welcome no matter what you believe. Everyone who comes to a Disturbed concert is accepted and loved. We are saddened that our fans in Belgium are not going to be able to share in this celebration of music.”
“Your tickets will be refunded automatically within 30 days to the payment card used at the time of purchase. You don’t need to take any further action.”
“We would like to thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate your support.”

The backlash to Disturbed follows after frontman David Draiman shared a photo in 2024 of him at an Israeli Defence Forces base signing artillery shells along with writing “fuck Hamas” on them.
Following the incident, Dramain has received significant backlash against him, even at the most recent Back To The Beginning concert.
The singer would later reply to the backlash in a statement while resharing the photos, writing:
“Yes, I signed ONE artillery shell at an IDF base on the #Gaza border,” Draiman wrote. “I wrote FUCK #HAMAS on it. I meant it, and I’d do it again. The insinuation that the one shell I signed had to have ‘killed children’ or ‘killed innocents/non combatants’ is absolutlty [sic] asinine.”
Last week, Disturbed were set to play Forest National Concert Hall in Belgium; however, as Belgian publication De Standaard would report, their show was pulled. According to the newspaper, Forest mayor Charles Spapens issued a police order prohibiting Disturbed from performing after “the show had become controversial because singer David Draiman is a strong supporter of the Israeli military.”
The publication would also report that various unions were expected to protest the concert due to Draiman’s support of the IDF, which had raised “security risks”.
Spapens had also admitted to The Brussels Times that he had been working with Forest National in an attempt to shut the concert down, and had called it a “moral problem”.
“This is about a man who signed a bomb that was dropped on Gaza,” Spapens told The Brussels Times. “We do not support the presence of this artist and even less so his position on Gaza.”
Disturbed are still expected to fulfil the remainder of their dates across their European tour, with a performance in Amsterdam tonight (October 14) and later this week in Munich, Germany (October 17).
