AC/DC Melbourne MCG Night 2: Set Times, Tickets, Setlist, Transport And What To Expect Tonight

Share

AC/DC return to the Melbourne Cricket Ground tonight for the second of their massive Melbourne shows, and if you’re heading in, here’s everything you need to know.

Night one was huge, drawing more than 80,000 people and delivering a set packed with classics. Night two is expected to follow the same structure with the possibility of one or two surprises.

Below is a clean run-down of the AC/DC MCG set times, how to get there, merch details, and the full setlist from Night One so fans can get a sense of what’s coming.

AC/DC Melbourne MCG Night Two – Set Times

Times are the same as Night One.

Gates:

  • General Admission: 5:00pm
  • Reserved seating: 5:30pm

Support Acts:

  • The Casanovas – 6:10pm
  • Amyl & The Sniffers – 7:00pm

AC/DC:

  • Expected onstage around 8:30pm

If you want context on why Amyl are one of the most talked-about support acts in years, here’s our feature on the current Melbourne rock moment.

Transport To The MCG

Parking at the stadium is extremely limited, so public transport is the best option. Expect heavy crowding on the Flinders Street, Jolimont and Richmond lines from 5:30pm onwards. Trams on Wellington Parade and Flinders Street will be running at increased frequency, but give yourself extra time as Night One was packed.

By Train:
Richmond Station and Jolimont Station are the two closest stops.

  • Richmond handles bigger crowds better and has more connecting lines.
  • Jolimont is quieter but gets packed closer to showtime.
Extra services will run on the Lilydale, Belgrave, Glen Waverley, Mernda and Hurstbridge lines from 5pm onward.

By Tram:

  • Route 70 (via Flinders St) stops at Rod Laver Arena, a short walk to the ground.
  • Route 75 (Wellington Parade) also gets you close.
  • Route 48 stops near the Fitzroy Gardens entrance.

Road Closures:
Expect rolling closures around Brunton Ave, Wellington Parade and the footbridges from 6pm.

Parking:
Yarra Park parking is only open to disability permit holders.
Do not attempt to drive into the precinct unless you like sitting still for an hour.

Walking:
If you’re coming from the CBD, the walk from Fed Square via the Birrarung Marr path is usually fastest.

Merch & On-Site Info

There are large merch tents located outside Gate 2 and inside between Gates 2 and 3. Expect long queues. Cashless payments only.

AC/DC-themed merch is also available at the official pop-up stores across Melbourne, which opened earlier in the week, including the Fitzroy pop-up and the CBD kiosk.

What Was Played On Night One?

Night One followed a tight hits-heavy set, opening with If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It) and running through the essential catalogue. Fans should expect the backbone of the show to stay the same for Night Two, though AC/DC have been known to shift one or two songs between shows.

*We’ll update this article with the confirmed Night Two setlist once AC/DC leave the stage tonight.

Here’s the confirmed Night One setlist:

  1. If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)
  2. Back in Black
  3. Demon Fire
  4. Shot Down in Flames
  5. Thunderstruck
  6. Have a Drink on Me
  7. Hells Bells
  8. Shot in the Dark
  9. Stiff Upper Lip
  10. Highway to Hell
  11. Shoot to Thrill
  12. Sin City
  13. Jailbreak
  14. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
  15. High Voltage
  16. Let There Be Rock

Encore:
17. T.N.T.
18. For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)

Night Two will almost certainly keep this structure, though fans are hoping for one or two deep cuts swapped in, especially after the reaction to Jailbreak returning for the first time since 1991.

If you missed our coverage of the Jailbreak moment, here’s the full story: AC/DC play ‘Jailbreak’ live for the first time since 1991.

Last-Minute Ticket Info

A limited number of official resale tickets were available earlier today. If you’re heading in without a ticket, security around the precinct will be tight, and Fed Square screens will not be broadcasting the show.

Final Word

Night One proved AC/DC still have stadium power few bands can match. With Amyl & The Sniffers warming the crowd up again tonight, this second MCG show is set to be another massive moment in what has been one of the biggest rock weeks Melbourne has seen in years.
