Good Things Festival draws closer, and we finally know what to expect from the weather for each city. Spoiler alert: Sydney-goers are in for a hot one.
The countdown to Good Things Festival is at the pointy end, and we finally know what to expect from the weather on each of the three days. For once, Melbourne isn’t copping the worst weather possible, but Sydney and Brisbane are in for some pretty hot ones.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology’s 7-day forecast, here’s what punters can expect from their respective festival dates:
Melbourne
Good Things Melbourne should see a minimum of 14° and a maximum of 22°, with partly cloudy conditions. There’s a slight chance of a shower (25% chance of at least 1mm) and some pretty mild winds. Sounds like a pretty solid day to us – but don’t think you can get off scott-free without sunscreen and water, folks.
Sydney
Good Things Sydney is going to be a scorcher, we’re afraid. Attendees at the Sydney Showgrounds can expect a minimum of 21° and a maximum of 37°, with a slight chance of a shower most likely later in the day. Just to really pile on, there’s also a chance of a thunderstorm later in the day. Absolutely lovely weather for standing outside for 12 hours! Stay cool, folks.
Brisbane
While not as horrific as Sydney, Brisbane attendees can expect a minimum of 21° and a maximum of 32°. It’ll be partly cloudy with a medium chance of showers (0-2mm) and chances of a thunderstorm.
Safe to say Good Things Festival attendees this year should prepare themselves accordingly – if you’re in Sydney or Brisbane, it might be worth ditching the pants for some shorts, skirts, or dresses so you don’t completely overheat. Especially given we just know a decent chunk of you are gonna rock up in all black, famously the worst possible colour for a hot day. If you’re in Melbourne, breathe a sigh of relief that you’re not copping the worst of it, but given the good old ‘four seasons in one day’ stereotype is there for a reason, stay prepared for all sorts of surprises.
If you’re wanting to stay in the know with what to expect on the day beyond weather, including set times, getting to and from the venues, and just about anything else you might otherwise end up scratching your head and asking the morning of, we’ve got you sorted with our ultimate Good Things guides for each city.
