Slayer are officially taking their reunion to the next level.
After returning to the stage in 2024 for a limited run of festival appearances and select headline shows, the thrash metal legends have now unveiled their most extensive touring plans since ending their retirement.
The band will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their landmark album Reign In Blood with a five date Latin American tour, performing the iconic record in its entirety for fans across Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil (per Metal Underground).
Widely regarded as one of the most influential metal albums ever released, Reign In Blood helped redefine extreme music when it arrived in 1986, inspiring countless generations of thrash, death and extreme metal bands that followed.
International Run
The upcoming run marks the first time Slayer have committed to a continuous international tour since reuniting, signalling that the band’s return may be far more substantial than many fans initially expected.
Adding even more firepower to the package, Texas crossover thrash favourites Power Trip will appear on the Mexico City date, while German thrash veterans Kreator will join Slayer for the remaining four shows.
Local support acts have also been confirmed for each stop, creating a stacked line-up celebrating some of the most influential names in heavy music, the announcement continues what has already been a remarkable second chapter for Slayer.
After wrapping up their farewell tour in 2019, many believed the band’s live career had reached its conclusion, their surprise return in 2024 quickly reignited speculation that more performances could be on the horizon.
Now, with a full Reign In Blood anniversary celebration heading to Latin America, fans will finally get the opportunity to experience one of metal’s most important albums performed from start to finish. The real question though? Will we see this in Australia? Here’s hoping.
