Hoodoo Gurus Hit Rewind Mode For Massive 45th Anniversary Australian Tour

Share

Australian rock icons Hoodoo Gurus are turning back the clock in 2026, but only for the songs everyone knows by heart.

To mark 45 years since the band first formed, Hoodoo Gurus have announced the Rewind Tour – All Killer, No Filler, a national run of shows landing across Australia this November and December with an ambitious promise, singles only.

Presented by Frontier Touring and Triple M, the anniversary run won’t dig through deep cuts or hidden gems. Instead, the band is committing to a setlist built entirely around their single releases across four decades.

Frontman Dave Faulkner on the singles concept

Frontman Dave Faulkner explained the thinking behind the concept:

“We’ve often been described as a “singles band” so for this Rewind tour we’re gonna embrace that notion by only playing songs that were released as singles. No b-sides, no album tracks, we’ll just be concentrating on the hits – and quite a few misses as well! It’s funny but some of our biggest flops went on to become some of our most beloved songs. “Axegrinder” horrified radio programmers back in the day – “We can’t play that!” seemed to be their collective response – but within 12 months “Axegrinder” had become a fan-favourite, which it remains to this day. There are a whole lot of other near-misses that fall into that category. Along with all our bona fide hits, we’re hoping to play every one of our 42 singles at least once somewhere during this tour.”

That means fans can expect a celebration built around staples including What’s My Scene, Like Wow – Wipeout! and Come Anytime, alongside overlooked releases that found their audience long after radio moved on.

Joining the tour is a stacked all Australian support lineup:

Sydney’s RATCAT will also be celebrating a major milestone, 40 years as a band, bringing their blend of indie pop, punk and chart-era nostalgia back to stages nationwide, Perth garage rock legends THE STEMS round out the bill after continuing their own resurgence with new material and festival appearances.

The run kicks off in Adelaide on November 28th before heading to Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and wrapping in Brisbane on December 11th, for fans of Australian rock history, this one looks less like a nostalgia lap and more like a victory tour.
