Powderfinger have added nine final Australian shows to their 2027 reunion tour, taking the run to 35 concerts after every one of the original 26 dates sold out.
More than 300,000 tickets were snapped up in six days, prompting the Brisbane band to extend the tour into November and December. Hobart and Canberra finally get their own shows, while Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane each pick up another two nights.
Frontman Bernard Fanning said: “When we saw how many people missed out on tickets, we knew we couldn’t leave it there.”
It’s good news for Tasmanian and ACT Powderfinger fans who had been facing an interstate trip: the band will play Cornelian Bay Oval in Hobart on November 13th and 14th, and Stage 88 in Canberra on December 4th. Ticket holders from those regions who have already bought entry for another city may be eligible to request a refund if they secure a local ticket; check the official conditions.
The all-Australian supports are a big part of the Encore Run. Something For Kate join the Melbourne dates, while Ocean Alley, DMA’S, John Butler Trio, The Living End and Violent Soho are among the acts appearing across the newly announced shows. The two outdoor Brisbane concerts close the tour, with Violent Soho, Ball Park Music, Thelma Plum and Full Flower Moon Band booked for the final night.
The supports for the previously announced 26 shows are still to be revealed.
