GIVEAWAY: Win a double pass to savage horror for the social media age, ‘SISSY’

Share

From writer/directors Hannah Barlow and Kane Senes and starring Aisha Dee of The Bold Type and Look Both Ways fame comes SISSY, a satirical horror film set to the backdrop of our spiraling social media addiction and, considering how many people are acting up when it comes to these various websites and apps, it honestly couldn’t have come soon enough.

Darkly funny, palm-sweatingly scary and frustratingly accurate, SISSY is also a timely cautionary tale and as such, we couldn’t have our readers miss out. In cahoots with Arcadia, Blunt Magazine is giving away five double passes for our Australian readers to catch a screening of your choice, and the chance to keep Halloween alive no less, following the film’s official Thursday, 3rd November release date. Details on how to enter below.

Going down in the timeless location of a cabin in the woods, SISSY sees former childhood friends unite for a hens night, having long since parted ways following an incident in their youths that left maid of honour Alex scarred for life at the hands of Sissy. With years of resentment pent up, Alex proceeds to make Sissy’s weekend a living hell. Often we don’t recognise our behaviours until they’re laid out before us, so thankfully Sissy holds up a mirror for us to look into (before beating us over the head with it).

The Australian film is already making serious moves, premiering at the SXSW festival and winning praise from even some of the sternest fans of the genre. Now, it’s time for wider audiences to see for themselves. Keep scrolling so you and a plus one can too.
