Sanguisugabogg’s Return Is Already Tearing Through Australia

Share

If you were on the fence about catching Sanguisugabogg this June, that window’s closing fast.

Ohio death metal unit Sanguisugabogg‘s 2026 Australian tour is already bleeding out, with Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne completely sold out and the rest hanging by a thread.

Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane are all sitting on low ticket warnings, and given how their last run went, that’s not surprising.

Gutless added to an already brutal lineup

As if things weren’t chaotic enough, Melbourne’s Gutless have now been locked in as openers across the tour, it’s a fitting addition, their brand of straight up pulverising death metal slots perfectly into a lineup that was already built to do damage.

They join Oklahoma’s PeelingFlesh, who are finally making their Australian debut, between the two supports, this isn’t a warm up, it’s a full on assault from the moment doors open.

‘Murderball’ chaos set to return

Anyone who caught the band’s 2024 debut here already knows what’s coming, Sanguisugabogg didn’t just play shows, they turned rooms upside down.

Their now infamous ‘murderball’ ritual saw a football launched into the pit, with fans tearing into each other for the chance to walk away with merch, it was messy, unpredictable, and somehow perfectly in line with the band’s whole identity.

Expect that same unhinged energy dialled up this time around.

Modern death metal at its most grotesque

Off the back of Hideous Aftermath, Sanguisugabogg have shifted from underground into something sharper and more deliberate, the gore is still there, tracks like ‘Face Ripped Off’ and ‘Dragged By A Truck’ don’t exactly hide it, but there’s a tighter, more calculated edge underneath.

They’ve taken cues from the likes of Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation, but filtered it through their own warped lens. It’s ugly, heavy, and it hits exactly where it’s supposed to.
