Five ballerinas fight for their lives in Amazon’s surprisingly savage Pretty Lethal.
Ballet is tough business, friendo. Ballerinas go through absolutely grueling training for years to do what they do, and there’s a lot of what the horse racing industry euphemistically calls “wastage” along the way. Don’t worry, they don’t shoot ’em – they just go on to become sports teachers like every other failed athlete you’ve ever met.
But the five dancers at the centre of Pretty Lethal might prefer a quick bullet to the head over the punishment getting dished out here, as the trailer below demonstrates.

What’s the plot?
Well, whaddya know, it’s our old friend the official synopsis:
An action-packed thriller where five ballerinas, on their way to a prestigious dance competition, are barely on speaking terms when their bus breaks down in a remote forest. With no other options, they reluctantly seek shelter at an unsettling roadside inn run by Devora Kasimer (Uma Thurman), a reclusive former ballet prodigy. From the moment they arrive, something feels wrong—and their worst instincts prove right. As the situation turns deadly, the fractured team must set aside rivalries and weaponize years of brutal training, turning grace, discipline, and even pointe shoes into tools for survival.

When’s it out?
Pretty Lethal hits Prime Video on March 25.
What’s the vibe?
I’m not gonna lie – that trailer looks way bloodier than I ever anticipated, and the tone definitely skews more towards horror than I expected. We’ve already seen ballet used for body horror in Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan back in 2010, so there’s a certain twisted sense in building an absolutely brutal survival actioner around the form. All else aside, we should get some killer fight choreography.
